When I'm out in the mountains, it’s just me, the elements, and the animals. There’s something raw about it all—wild and untameable. Mountains have the power to claim lives if you’re not skilled enough to navigate them. They need to be honoured and respected, almost like gods. Walking, one foot after the other, with others by your side is such a heart-opening experience.
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that expressing yourself can be so healing, so I encourage it while we hike. When all you've got to keep you going is talking to each other, you know the conversation’s going to get deep and It really moves me to see two people who’ve never met before climb a mountain together, sharing their life stories—not just with each other, but with the mountain itself.
